“Dragonkeeper”
is a 2024 animated fantasy adventure film,
a Spanish-Chinese co-production, directed by Salvador Simó and Li Jianping. Based on Carole Wilkinson’s novel,
it follows the story of Ping, an enslaved orphan girl in Han Imperial China.
When dragons, once trusted, are banished from the kingdom, Ping discovers a dragon egg.
She embarks on a perilous journey with the ancient dragon Long Danzi and her rat friend Hua to return the egg to the ocean,
fulfilling her destiny and preventing the extinction of dragons. The film opened the 27th Málaga Film Festival.
