“Fists of Legend”
tells the story of Deok-kyu,
a former Olympic hopeful whose dreams were shattered by a moment of misfortune that landed him and his friends in jail. Years later, struggling to make ends meet,
Deok-kyu is offered a chance at redemption through a televised mixed martial arts tournament.
The reality show, “Fists of Legend,” pits middle-aged men, once considered “legends” in their youth, against each other for a substantial cash prize.
Deok-kyu finds himself competing alongside his old friends: Sang-hoon, a company manager burdened by a lack of self-respect, and Jae-seok, a down-on-his-luck dreamer.
The film explores themes of second chances, lost dreams, and the enduring power of friendship, as these men confront their pasts and fight for their futures in the brutal arena of the tournament.
