Consciously living is the essence of simple living. A system that is essentially paced in this manner encourages us to be fast-paced, lack time, and lack financial awareness in the modern world. We need to become more conscious in order to put things into perspective again. We need to learn how to breathe deeply and let go of the pace and stress of modern life.
Let’s examine finance. The simple fact is that the majority of us have developed extremely bad habits. We can now look, point, want, and get. Many of these things are taught to us and encouraged by our parents, who grow afraid to say “no” to us. In turn, they do this for a lot of the same reasons we develop bad habits. i.e., not being aware and living mindfully and thoughtfully.
We can restore a slower pace to our lives and become more conscious of and in charge of our finances by doing the following.
Try not to permit an equilibrium to develop on your Visa.
Use a credit card only if you are certain that you will be able to pay it off that month.
This also includes the rule that you should never lend money to someone on the basis of credit. You are not permitted to lend money. It’s amazing that this needs to be said because so many people do it. Basically, if you have to use credit, it means you don’t have enough money to lend to anyone. Simply say, “I do not have the money,” in response to a request.
Don’t use your credit card at places like the mall, an adventure event, or a fun park that encourage spending on entertainment. Take cash and leave the credit card at home. When the money is gone it’s home time. You won’t go over what you can handle.
These establishments are designed to encourage you to make impulsive purchases because people frequently show up and spend on the spot.
