Football player Hong-dae

faces disciplinary action after an unforeseen incident,

leading to his appointment as coach of a special national soccer team.

This team is composed of homeless individuals,

many with no prior soccer experience and challenging personalities, who aim to compete in the Homeless World Cup.

Initially skeptical, Hong-dae gradually embraces his role, also gaining unexpected fame through a documentary filmed by Lee So-min, a videographer whose career was also struggling.

Despite a tempting offer to leave, Hong-dae commits to the team and travels with them to Europe for the competition.

While they don’t win the cup, their performance resonates with the audience. Back in Korea, Hong-dae and So-min’s careers are revived. The film concludes with Hong-dae returning to major league soccer.

The movie is inspired by a true event, likely the 2010 Homeless World Cup.
