Wong Kai Joe harbors
a long-standing resentment towards his uncle, Wong Ping Yee,
and schemes to remove him from their village and seize the Dragon Head Cleaver. During a village event,
Joe poisons a guest, framing Yee and leading to his expulsion.
The narrative then focuses on Ken’ichi, a top culinary student who is encouraged to seek out Master Sum for further training. Meanwhile,
Yee encounters the sisters Shum Ching and her sister, and resolves to assist them with their struggling restaurant, “Four Seas.”
Yee trains Ken’ichi to compete against Chef Tin from the “Imperial Palace” for the title of “Top Chef.” During the competition, Yee is shocked to discover his brother is alive, much to the dismay of Joe, who watches the events unfold on television.
